Il Convivio delle differenze vuol essere un’iniziativa tesa a ricostruire una nuova forma di dialogo prezioso per credenti e non. In ciascuno di noi – sottolinea il Card. Martini – abita “un non credente e un credente che si parlano dentro”. Nell’intimo di ognuno cova il desiderio di un dialogo interiore sulle ragioni fondamentali del vivere e del credere.
La metodologia proposta è quella di un parlarsi convivialmente avvertendo tutti la necessità di un’umile ricerca, di un annuncio essenziale, di un nuovo linguaggio.
Il Convivio è occasione di incontro e di apertura dell’Istituto con il territorio. Per gli studenti è un approfondimento monotematico annuale di tipo seminariale. Per quanti hanno frequentato l’Istituto è occasione di incontro e proposta di aggiornamento. Per il mondo accademico è un momento di condivisione ed approfondimento della ricerca teologica e filosofica.
La decima edizione del convegno è prevista per i giorni 4-5-6 aprile 2011 presso i locali del Museo Diocesano, Piazza Duomo, 1 – Trani
Il tema
Simone Weil: dentro e fuori la Chiesa?
Tra le molteplici contraddizioni che hanno contraddistinto la ricerca esistenziale di una donna singolare – che è stata professoressa, operaia, militante sindacale e pacifista, volontaria della guerra di Spagna e della resistenza, filosofa e teologa, atea, bolscevica e mistica … – una di particolare rilevanza riguarda il suo conflittuale rapporto con la Chiesa, dal rifiuto di farne parte esplicitamente (si pensi solo alle obiezioni della Lettera a un religioso) alla controversa questione del suo battesimo in punto di morte.
Gli incontri saranno presieduti dall’Arcivescovo, S.E. mons. Raffaele Pichierri, moderatore dell’ISSR, e coordinati dal prof. Domenico Marrone, direttore dell’Istituto, nonché dal prof. Paolo Farina, curatore del progetto di questa X edizione.

X edition of the “Convivio delle differenze”
Simone Weil. Inside and outside the Church?
The “Convivio delle differenze” (you can read: “The convivium of the differences”) is an initiative to build a new form of precious dialogue for believers and unbelievers. Cardinal Martini said: “In each of us lives an unbeliever and a believer who talk to each other.” In our interior world it is present the desire of an internal dialogue on the fundamental reasons for living and believing.
The proposed methodology is to talk friendly with all who need a humble research, a key announcement of a new language.
The Convivium is an opportunity of meeting and opening of the Institute with the local territory. Students have the opportunity to follow a deep monothematic annual seminars. For those ones who have attended the Institute it is an opportunity to meet and draft updates. For the academic world it is a time of sharing and depth of the philosophical and theological research.
The tenth edition of the conference is scheduled for the day 4-5-6 April 2011
at the Diocesan Museum Piazza Duomo, 1 – Trani
The topic is: “Simone Weil: is she inside and outside the Church?”
Among the many contradictions that have marked the existential quest of a remarkable woman – who was a professor, worker, union activist and pacifist, a volunteer of the Spanish war and resistance, philosophy and theology, atheist Bolshevik … and mystical – a particular importance concernes her conflictual relationship with the Church, the refusal to join explicitly (considering only the objections of the Letter to a religious) to the controversial question of her baptism on her deathbed.
The meeting will be chaired by the Archbishop, Raffaele Pichierri, moderator of the ISSR, and will be coordinated by professor Domenico Marrone, director of the Institute, and professor Paolo Farina, the project’s curator.
